FR: Joke Opener

I just stumbled across this opener that I've been using lately. Here it is:

"Do you know any good jokes?"

That's it. Works like a charm.

a) it's simple and pretty much impossible to screw up the delivery

b) it works for everyone, from little kids to old ladies, singles or groups. Almost everyone knows at least one joke.

c) It's playful and immediately gets her qualifying herself by trying to think of something funny.

d) It sets you up to neg her afterwards. "Really? That's really the best joke you know?" etc.

And, every once in a while, you actually hear something really funny.
