More Fun in West Palm

a report by Shaggy. (view Shaggy's blog)March 19, 2010

Yesterday, Thursday evening, NW and I met up with some prospective wingLook up this terms. We have a plan to expand our social circle, and to find new guys who are committed to the Game with whom to share and trade ideas and strategies. I had placed a notice on Craigslist ( in the W4M section ) and got a bunch of replies. I also was in communication with a couple of the denizens of this blog/forum. Nightwolf and I were fashionably late to our own meeting. (He got caught in traffice, and I was wasting time trying to find where I misplaced my cell phone and deciding which hate to wear.) We met at a Chinese restuarant near Route 1, and already sitting at the table were three fellows, two who drove up from Miami, and one who is staying more locally to where NW and I live.

We ordered food, as one is wont to do in a Chinese restuarant, although none of us had wonton. (A bad pun. I have to work on my improvisational comedy.) We ate and talked. It was a great fun conversation, and we discovered who had taken which seminar and read which book and we traded reading recommendations. Then the hour came from us to roll out.

Two of our guests had to return to Miami, but we invited Stephan to join us at our usually sargingLook up this term venues. Thursday was a bit slow, but each each opened many more setLook up this terms than usual. You can read about Stephan's adventures in his post.

We started by going to a warm up venue. He opened a setLook up this term barely 3 seconds after entering in that place. He had a smooth opening style that although rehearsed (as all of us are) appeared smooth and confident. After warming up and getting blown out a few times, we were feeling good and ready for the main venue. Despite it being a slow night, each of us opened many setLook up this terms. Most of the setLook up this terms I opened went well, got to that point where I felt a hook or small connection, but then hit on silence or an IOD. That was fine with me, since I am still working on never hesitating when I see an opportunity to open. NW has been pushing me to open setLook up this term after setLook up this term and not leave any time to over think things between setLook up this terms. Also, I measure my success by how much fun I feel and not whether or how many I closed that particular mission. If the debriefing session with my wingLook up this terms is fruitful and helps us understand what went right, what worked, what did not work and why, then the evening is a success. It no longer is about rejection. Rejection has transformed itself into data collection and experience. I feel great about last night, because I opened a woman I would consider an HB9, where a few months ago, I would only have looked at her feely frustrated for not knowing how to approach her. I have had to suppress my impatience in this whole process. Like so many of you/us, I imagine that the mPUALook up this terms walk in to a club, and ten minutes later are doing it like they do on the Discovery Channel in a limousine. I have had to learn that patience actually is much better than pushing things. From a David Wygant video, I learned that attempting an f-close or k-close too soon may not be the best way to actually f-close in the end. In learning this skillset, I have to remember that I need to mast one sub-set skill at a time.

I have to go to work, so I will finish this blog entry later.....Come back and visit then....

Ok, it is a couple of hours later and I am done with my morning appointments. I know that our gracious host, Cliff and Sleazy, do not think much of having a Wingman, and I think that having a godo Wingman is essential to improving quickly. At some point, I will write an essay on that. Last night's experience proves that to me, at least. In any case, I have been focusing entirely on the skill of opening and now, I have consistently opened but get to that point where there is that spot where I guess I should throw a couple of negs in or be entertaining. In my day game, the girl almost always offers up material and feeds her side of the conversation. This club game is a whole 'nother art.

Well, tonight, Stephan and NW and I are meeting up again. Stay tuned on Cliffslist.com for my next report and rant.
