Let's Break Some Rules

I've been working for a large telecom provider for the past 3 years. It has been a strange experience and I've treated it as a job while pursuing other things that I work on. This Monday, I was downsized by the company, so I got a sweet severance package.

I want to take advantage of this situation to share 2 things: first of all how Game has helped me become the positive, strong, confident person I've always wanted to be ... and of course the FR that I will write about.

So the “letting me go went” something like this:

Both of them are in shock at how I reacted. The whole time I'm grinning, laughing and joking about it ... they're just utterly confused.

All this to say that the main thing I've learned is how to be a better person and handle things much better. The job, the clothes, the watch, the shoes, the phone, the car ... all that crap is not important. Value comes from within and it cannot be taken away if I loose all these things. I am still worth the same. My reaction is simple: I'm healthy, I have my mind, body and soul in a great place, everything else is just details.

So Game has made me a much stronger and much wiser person. That is something we can all benefit from, no matter the performance.

So the next day, I call the HB_HR:

I hop into my car drive down to the office, then call her from the front reception, I park car in the Reserved Spot and walk through the front door. Security shows up:

He frowns and walks away, I call up my lab and get some people on a conference call.

HB_HR shows up and stands in front of me, I pretend not to see her for a bit and keep talking to my guys on the call. Then I get up and wave to her, walk to security to get a badge and sign in. The whole time I'm on the phone and talking to my guys, so we walk to the elevator and I'm lagging behind. She turns to me:

5 minutes later, I say goodbye to my lab people and take the elevator, walk to the door and have her open it for me (she has the card) to get into my office.

She's kind of stunned. I start packing my stuff into a box and begin the DHV.

This is where things go crazy, so I start DHV storytelling, taking my time to pack things.

She asks me how I can work in a lab, so I explain my time in Med School, and my time working in the film industry for my TV show, my experience at the Dawson Shooting, and all the things that I've been up to lately. Mainly some nice DHV stuff like my time in Africa, and I have pics on my phone to support it. She's standing there, holding my phone in her hand, hearing me tell her all this stuff.

I turn to the board and start explaining a triage process I invented for speeding up troubleshooting in a technical environment. She's stunned.

This was the demonstration that the DHVing had peaked. That question essentially told me that I was now in her eyes a High Value Male. Move on to building rapport.

I grab the pen for my board and start explaining the concept of reality to her. Perception and Apprehension and how this stuff fits together, (There is some math on my board that I was solving) She asked about the math and I told her I was bored, I also have a Time Machine Project Status at 20% thing on my board so I elaborate on reality and explain how this all fits together.

She's clearly in shock, she's sitting on the desk, her hand on her necklace rolling it around her finger, one foot rubbing her calf and her chest up.

That's enough IOI for me. To top it off, I turn to my wall and start removing pictures of all these HBs I have posted up on the wall. I toss them on the desk one by one, without looking, but I know she's looking at them. I toss the last one, this gorgeous, dark haired, blue-eyed goddess I dated in college, then I turn around, pick up the photo and just say, “She was fun,” put the photo in my box and grab my mug.

I grab the mug and walk to the kitchen. She starts following me. I continue the conversation. She asks about the Model of Reality I have and if I came up with it. I say it's bits and pieces from everywhere, and I put them together into my version. She explains she has a graduate degree in psych and she's really interested in that stuff, etc ...

I wash the mug and continue telling her about this concept. We walk back to my desk. I give her the mug.

I go down to the lobby and she's itching for me to make some kind of move.

I walk straight to the door and stop. I turn to her. She's got her fingers on her necklace, eyes locked, striking a pose at me. She drops the necklace and has her fingers around her lips.

I pick up the box and leave and walk out to my car grinning. There is nothing like knowing your going to fuck the girl that fired you.

Notes:

A lot of stuff was happening here. The hook point was so early that I could build a lot of rapport, enough to make her break the rules.

I used some very well structured stories. I had pictures to support them on my phone and a board to draw up my ideas on the concepts of reality.

This close was extremely satisfying. Her body language was off the charts, she was sending out signals and it was very important to observe her carefully.

In my DHV stories, I addressed a lot of the Emotional Needs she had and I hit all the points with regards to Mystery Method DHV stories.

As a little bonus, I got a call a few hours later from a Head Hunting agency, and a little bit later I got a call from RIM for a possible job in Ottawa, it was awesome.
