David Shade Interview:
David Shade is known worldwide to men and couples for his advice on how to have amazing sex. He regularly coaches men on how to give women incredible pleasure, and couples on how to enhance their sexual relationships. David has authored a book that sells worldwide, and teaches seminars on how to be a Masterful Lover.
Clifford: David, how did you get started in all this?
David: I have always loved women and have always had a passion for giving women incredible pleasure. But I certainly never set
out to be a teacher in this area. I just wanted to be as good as I possibly could be.
I had always been interested in human sexuality, but it was after my divorce that I started studying it seriously. I was married for eight years. She was very hot, so the sex was exciting and all, but it was your basic meat and potatoes stuff. The marriage ended in 1992. I felt very deflated and defeated and alone.
So I set out to figure out what went wrong and how I would never make that mistake again. I read every divorce recovery book there was. That got me very interested in the psychology of relationships. So I read every relationship book there was out there. I remember laying on the couch reading relationship books while Monday night football played on the TV. Talk about dichotomy. What was important in a relationship, and what I needed to have in a woman, began to become apparent to me. As I started figuring it out, I became even more interested in it.
I was also anxious to get back into the game, but I had custody of our two small children, and was thus stuck at home on the week nights. So I turned to the telephone. There was a small singles magazine in our area where people put in personal ads. You would read through the ads and decide which women to call. You would then call a 900 number and leave a message and your number. The ladies would then listen to their messages and decide who to call back. That was back in '92 before there was caller ID. The women could call and know that you had no way of knowing who they really were or where they lived. So there was that anonymity which gave them safety.
I picked women who were recently divorced and about thirty years old. So when they would call, the rapport would build quickly as we had much in common and much to talk about. Because I needed validation that I was still attractive to women, and still able to affect a woman sexually, I would see how sexual I could get with these women over the phone.
After a while of building rapport, making them feel comfortable, making them feel close to me, I would start moving things in a romantic erotic direction. I would talk about things like what it would feel like to feel the opposite of alone, and I would describe the perfect date, or I would describe what it would feel like to feel so very close to someone. And then I'd move it to where it was about her and me in that situation. To my amazement, clearly eighty percent of these women would go right along with it. They would begin to listen intently, and I would hear them begin to sigh and breath deeply.
At that point I'd move it to sexual talk. I'd describe what she and I would do if I were there with her now. And it'd go right into phone sex. And they'd go right along with it. And within just a few more minutes they'd be screaming in orgasm. It was amazing.
Then I had to know how far I could push it. I tried to see how soon after a woman would first call that I would give her her first orgasm. I think the record was just under thirty minutes. Then I had to see how many orgasms I could give a woman in as short of time as possible. I think that record was five orgasms before the first hour.
I got so good at developing my voice and describing things in realistic detail, that I decided to find out if my voice alone could get them off. So on the second time that they would call, I would tell them to keep their free hand behind their head. And I would get them off again. An orgasm without any touching. It was wild.
I got addicted to it. But I had to work the next day. So I'd be getting women off while I was ironing my shirts for work. I'd literally be having phone sex while I folded my laundry.
All of these women had recently left a loveless marriage. They were simply reaching out in the dark to verify that they were still sexual creatures. And, they told me amazing stories of their affairs, sex lives, and fantasies. It was a real learning experience.
I had always known that sexuality was mostly a mental thing, but it was the phone sex experience that really illustrated it for me. It is so very cerebral.
Clifford: Did you see any of those women that you talked with on the phone? My experience on the phone lines has been that once you have phone sex with the women, actually meeting them in person became less likely. Talking about sex was one thing, actually doing it on the phone seemed to reduce the likelihood of an actual meeting. What was your experience in this regard?
David: It is a misnomer that having phone sex with a woman precludes hooking up. They have decided long before the phone sex if they are looking for the real deal or not. Some women are just looking to put their toes in the water to validate that they are still sexual without having to meet up in person, kind of a telephone flirtatious fantasy. Some are definitely looking to hook up, and especially after you get them off big time on the phone. Of the women I talked to on the phone, I found that about one third were not interested in hooking up, about one third of them I was not interested in seeing in person, and about one third of them I'd actually meet. We'd meet at some neutral location, and about one third of them would not be interested in me or would chicken out, about one third of them I would not be interested in, and for the remaining one third, we would leave within 30 minutes for her place. One of them I dated for six months. She was great. She was intelligent, high self esteem, and very sensual. E
verything I didn't have in my marriage.
At the same time, I'd get a baby sitter on the weekends, or the kids would be at their mom's place, and I'd go to the night clubs with my buddy from work.
I needed the validation that I was still attractive to young women, because after my divorce I felt old and used up. But I was surprised at how well some of the young women responded to me. It got to the point where I was pulling a different 21 year old woman every Friday and Saturday night that I almost told myself I couldn't go out anymore so that I wouldn't catch anything.
Clifford: What were you saying or doing in the clubs that you feel got you this success with these young women?
David: I learned a lot from the phone experience about making an emotional connection with a woman. I'd take it a step at a time. I'd find common ground, make her laugh, be interesting, make a connection, be sexually suggestive, and aggressively pursue getting her home. You know, the good old fashioned way.
Clifford: What do you mean by be interesting?
David: Have you ever noticed that people who are not interested are people who are not interesting? And being interested gets to that common ground. You add to what she is saying by saying things that demonstrate that you truly understand her. And because it only works on women who themselves are interesting, it's a good screening tactic. The being interested and being interesting thing builds on itself between the two people and dramatically ramps up rapport.
Unfortunately, about half of these young women were not having orgasms. I figured that the reason was because I was making love to them the same way I had been making love to my wife for many years. It worked while we were married, but it was not working on these one night stands. And it was not working like the phone sex thing was. It was because of the clumsiness of the one night stand, and the fact that it was reality, not fantasy. So I decided to incorporate more cerebral stuff, and I was going to learn some new sex techniques.
Clifford: So, where did you learn some new sex techniques?
David: Yes. Again I turned to books. But I was very disappointed in the sexuality books. They only talked about sexual positions, or they'd spend twenty pages just talking about how to lick the clit, or they'd require you to memorize the names of 200 East Indian Gods. There are very few good sexuality books, and of those, there might be one paragraph worth quoting.
The books that I really got interested in were the cerebral related books about women's experiences and fantasies. Now that was eye opening. It is amazing how incredibly sexual women are. Men need to understand this. Women are far hornier than men know.
Since the sexual techniques books were disappointing, I set out to figure some out myself. And that's when I fell upon the deep spot. I started dating a 22 year old woman who had never had an orgasm. I just started trying stuff, and the deep spot gave her her first orgasm.
Clifford: Tell us a little bit more about the deep spot. Why do you think that this worked with this woman and more conventional target zones didn't?
David: Slide your finger in as far along the front wall of her vagina as possible, without going as far as the cervix. At its greatest depth, the inner diameter of the vagina increases. This area is no longer spongy, but instead smooth and firm, with slight horizontal ribbing. Curl the tip of your finger in a "come hither" manner, while pressing against the ribbing and slightly pulling down. This is the front of what is called the cavity of the cervix. It is also known as the a-spot.
If you meet a woman who has never had an orgasm or has never had a vaginal orgasm, then you are going to have to do something different than all the other guys who tried and failed with the more conventional target zones. The deep spot produces deeper sensations and orgasms, and is likely new territory for her.
Clifford: When did you first get into the online seduction community?
David: In '97. During the mid 90s, I was hanging around with some guys who were total naturals. These guys were really good. I had a lot of fun going out chasing skirt with them, but they started dropping out of the scene. And they were not as interested in giving women pleasure as they were about just getting laid. So I decided I needed to get some new friends.
I did a search on the internet on the word seduction, and I found the alt.seduction news group. That was great. I figured I'd found a group of guys who were as interested in women as I was. I posted about some of the sexual techniques I had learned, and I got a few replies from guys about them.
In the news group I heard about NLP and hypnosis and energy. It was fascinating to me, and I knew I could apply it to sexuality. And then I heard Major Mark speaking on Ross' tapes. I listened to Mark's talk over and over again.
I'd always wanted to learn hypnosis because I knew that a woman's orgasm is very cerebral, so in early 2000 I took his three day stage hypnosis seminar. That was awesome. I took a liking to hypnosis immediately. That's when things really started to take off.
I also read everything I could by Rick H. He was very successful with threesomes, and I wanted to engage in that activity as well.
The most important thing I learned in the seduction community, is that everything is mental. Everything is attitude. I learned to get rid of self limiting beliefs, and I learned that it really is OK to be a man, without apology, without excuse. And, not too surprising, that's what women respond to.
Clifford: One of the problems many guys have is that while they may realize one thing or another needs to be changed, actually changing it is a different story. For example, a fat person may know he needs to lose weight, but that's not enough. Someone who has limiting beliefs usually can't just realize that he needs to change his attitude - this is not so easily accomplished. What worked for you in terms of getting rid of self limiting beliefs?
David: Getting rid of self limiting beliefs is about cutting through all the bullshit and seeing reality. If you have a belief that is self limiting, challenge it. Is it based on something that you made up to explain a lack of success? Discover the reality in things and leverage them to empower you. For example, when you go into a bar, do you see women with bitch shields on ready to shoot you down, or do you see lonely horny women who spent an hour getting ready so they would look good so they could meet a man so they can have a hot passionate sexual relationship?
Men realize they need to change their beliefs. But many men are not ready to assume beliefs that are empowering because they do not believe that they deserve them, or that they do not believe that they are man enough for them.
It requires a belief in yourself. You need to be honest with where you are and where you need to be. And you have to be willing to make the many uncomfortable changes to get there, including getting comfortable with the idea that you are worthy of it. Take responsibility.
Clifford: How did you use NLP and hypnosis and energy in sexuality?
David: I saw them as powerful tools to add to the toolbox. With NLP, I learned to make associations. I would associate a woman's orgasm with stimulation of other parts of her body, like her nipples or her anus. And then I would leverage that association to give her a nipple orgasm or an orgasm in back door intercourse. I posted about that on your list a long time ago.
With hypnosis, I knew that I could make anything a woman's reality. I love doing weird perverted things and blowing a woman's mind, so what I did was I would hypnotize women and make it their reality that they had a penis, and then I'd have them jack off to orgasm. It is a wild thing to watch. They actually felt it, in detail. Interestingly, they all bragged about how big they were and how far they shot. The coolest thing with hypnosis is the instant orgasm on command. Now that's fun.
Clifford: Can you elaborate on the "instant orgasm on command"?
David: Stage hypnotists do this all the time. You hypnotize a woman into trance and tell her that when you say the words "come now" she will instantly have an orgasm. Then say "come now." It's that simple. And then, at any later time, all you have to do is get her back into a romantic sexy state and say it again and it will instantly happen again.
And with energy, I was able to take a woman's orgasm to an entirely new level. And I was able to give a woman an orgasm by using only my energy, no touching, no talking, only energy.
Clifford: How do you use energy to take a woman's orgasm to an entirely new level?
David: You start her orgasm in her root chakra, then you move it up each of her chakras one at a time, until you finally shoot it out the top of her crown chakra. At that point, her orgasm is one with the entire universe. For her, she will be totally unaware of her physical self. It will be beyond pleasure.
Clifford: Do you know the answer to the age old question: What do women want?
David: It depends on her age and her self esteem. A woman who's 21 wants something entirely different from a woman who's 31. And a woman with a low self esteem needs something different from a woman with a high self esteem. But I think ultimately what most women want is to be in an exciting relationship with a man that she is wildly crazy about.
Women may not know it, and they certainly cannot articulate it, but four things must be true in order for her to feel that.
First, she needs to feel appreciated for the unique individual that she is. She needs to feel special, unlike any other woman. And she needs to know that her man supports her in her endeavors.
Second, she needs to feel that deep intimate emotional connection. She needs to have that emotional intimacy with her man. It's a connection she shares only with him.
Third, she needs to feel like a woman. She needs to feel beautiful, sexy, and feminine. She needs to enjoy all those things that come with being a woman, and those things come to light when she's with an exciting man.
And finally, she needs hot passionate sex. She needs to be seduced, enticed, teased, and satisfied, over and over again. She needs to experience new things, in new ways, including fantasies and roles. It makes her feel alive.
And these four things can only be true for her when she is with a man that she can trust, and most importantly, that she has respect for. Respect is utmost.
So, basically, it makes her feel alive, it makes her feel like a woman, it makes her feel deep emotions, and it makes her feel special.
Clifford: So, what do men really want?
David: The masculine equivalent of that. They want to feel like a man.
And the four things above hold true for a man as well. And those things become true for him when he is with a woman who will do all those wild kinky things with him that he's always wanted to do. When he is with a feminine sexy woman that makes him feel masculine. When being with his woman evokes powerful emotions in him. And when his woman believes in him.
Clifford: If a man is interested in such an experience, what advice would you give him?
David: First, choose the really worthy women, and start working on the trust and respect.
Her trust in you is required in order for her to surrender to you. Her respect for you is required in order for her to become responsive to you. Respect is utmost.
And then play to the mental aspects of her sexuality. Concentrate on the cerebral aspects of sexuality, not just the sex specifically. Lead her mind, and make her body crave it.
Work on the four basic needs. Make her feel special, make her feel deep emotions, make her feel like a woman, and give her wild screaming orgasms. Be different than all the other guys. Be the man who awakens that sexual creature within her.
Clifford: What do you mean by choose the really worthy women?
David: Most men choose women based solely on their looks, with no regard to who she is as a person. How does that make him any different than the women he curses who choose men solely on their looks, or muscles, or money, with no concern for the fact that he may or may not be intelligent and high self esteem with a lot to offer a woman?
If seduction is about having a choice, then that would mean that men need to choose. It is not about going with any woman that will say yes. That is just seeking external validation, and puts all the power in the women. There's nothing personally powerful about that. Instead, select your women based on who they are.
You see, everything you need to completely fulfill a woman is already within her. But a woman can only be as fulfilled as she believes she deserves to be. So, select the women that are capable.
There are three things that must be there for her to be capable. The first is intelligence. The more intelligent she is, the more powerful leading her mind can be. Second is sensuality. The really sexual women have always been that way, and they are going to be the most responsive. And third, high self esteem. She must have the sense of deservedness enough to believe that she deserves pleasure and fulfillment.
Clifford: What are you doing now?
David: I am doing less hypnosis stuff lately. Instead, I am using what I know about hypnosis to get the same results without actually doing a formal hypnotic induction. It is a matter of getting around her objections and pre-conceived notions, and leveraging her innate sexual mind, to create a new reality and experience for her.
I am trying to get the knowledge out to men that they can use in their lives to make their lives more fulfilling. Men need to understand that they can have very exciting sexual relationships with women, and do all those wild kinky things they've always wanted a woman to do with them.
And I am continuing to perfect the art of making threesomes happen. My girlfriend and I were going to the large night clubs, but lately we are concentrating more on the smaller bars. But it still boils down to finding the right women.
Clifford: Can you elaborate on what you and your girlfriend do in bars and night clubs to meet women?
David: We go in as a team, with her on my arm, showing how good our relationship it. This sends the message that no woman can get between us, and this is also very attractive to women. We start with small talk and build rapport. Then I read the woman's palm and find out if she is bisexual. If so, I demonstrate that I am congruent with her reality, and then she becomes very attracted to us. Then my girlfriend gets flirty with the woman and they get those bi-indicators going back and forth. Then I hug and kiss the woman. Then my girlfriend hugs and kisses the woman. Then we go for the close.

Melbourne Lair: The place, an open shopping center in the heart of the city. I sit down at the food court and wait for familiar faces to arrive. I picked the location of this months meeting of the Melbourne Lair, Its great to have it in an informal place like a food court, sets a nice relaxing mood. Once everybody arrives we push some tables together and start the meeting. We discuss peoples sticking points and offer suggestions, we tell stories of crash and burns and success stories. We just shoot the shit, it fucking great to meet up with like minded people. While telling someone my smurf routine, I see two guys get up from the table and start walking away, I glance back later to see them sitting with a girl, these guys are approach machines.
The meeting goes on way too fucking long, everybody's got a story to tell, advice to offer, we could talk to each other for days. I feel like this is Ocean's 11 and we are planning the big heist. There is the leader, he started the group. The guru, he's an encyclopedia of info. There is the joker, he can't stop negging and teasing everyone; fucking Canadians. There's the approach machines, they can't follow the conversation because they are too busy following the nearest piece of ass. There is the SSer, the grease boy and of course Brad Pitt. We all exchange numbers before leaving and make plans for sarging during the week. If there is a Lair in your area, join it, if there isn't, start one of your own. You will not regret it.

Doc, who many of you know from his great interview here last time and all too rare but outstanding posts on this list, on Mystery's Lounge, and the Montreal Lair, is bringing his seminars and speed dating events to Montreal. Previously they were mainly held in Toronto as part of the Learning Annex, Doc is now setting it up here and plans to hold events on a monthly basis.

What method are YOU using?
If you are opening groups (or sets: 2-sets, 3-sets, mixed sets, etc) of people with the 3 second rule by stacking indirect openers (including false opinion openers), false time constraining (discovered by Style), demonstrating a higher value to your romantic interest’s peer group with high octane DHVs while she obliquely observes (locking her into her own set with a prop), and simultaneously performing false disqualifiers (which include negs) on her with the intension of disarming her peergroup and then isolating her to rebuild her self-esteem once you have enough IOIs (indicators of interest) so you may share in a comfort and trust building effort and then build in a jealousy subplot to solidify her attraction for you, you are using The Mystery Method.
If instead you are only approaching women who are alone, you are greatly limiting your options and quite likely alienating your target's friends. Do you want a lonely woman (why is she lonely?) or a woman who already has a healthy social lfe? Truth is, healthy women have healthy relationships ... sometimes good friendships with guys. Like it or not, you will have to meet these women with men in her group.
Women of beauty are rarely found alone. Don't miss the opportunity to meet and attract them WITH social proof from her very own peergroup. Group Approach Theory (GAT - created by me) improves your options and increases the chances for attraction DRAMATICALLY over Single Approach Theory (SAT).
