I've just come in from attending Real Social Dynamics' 2006 London
Superconference. Ideally I'd wait a day or two before writing a review
so that I can let my thoughts settle a little, but I've got the time now
and I'm not going anywhere before bedtime.
I've known the RSD guys for several years now, about since they started
out, I guess. This is the third of their seminars I've been to, or been
to part of in that time span. I've really felt that I've witnessed the
guys and their teaching grow a lot in that time.
So you read this the right way, I have to point out that I was there as
their non-paying guest. Take that how you will - it isn't meant as a
brag, but just so you can take a view on both my impartiality and how I
might assign value to something I got for free.
As it happens, I nearly didn't attend all of the seminar. The first day
was a Friday, so I had to take a day off work, which means losing a
day's pay, blah, blah. I was expecting a weekend of lines and routines
from sincere but perhaps slightly misguided PUA types. Not really my
favourite thing. Anyway, I was getting bored at work, an invitation's an
invitation and I was curious to catch up with the guys and hear Tyler's
latest "tech".
The Superconference is an RSD seminar. Unlike their in-field bootcamps,
this is a pure classroom experience with a bit of self-guided homework
thrown in on the evening. The schedule was 11:00am to 6:00pm and over
the two days, four RSD executive coaches, (Tim, Jeff aka Jlaix, Ozzie
and Hoobie) plus Tyler spoke, with an extensive panel Q&A session to
finish.
Tyler's stated goal was to get the coaches (and himself) up there in
front of the room to get across who they were as people. They really
weren't out to teach the mechanics of "game". A lot of that was already
assumed. I haven't seen their recent seminar DVD product but am told
that it is well covered in there, which was why they wanted to do
something different this time.
All of the coaches have surprisingly similar stories - starting out
terrible with girls, hitting rock bottom, then realizing that things had
to change. Working their way up through the PUA-wringer - the social
robot thing, 7 nights a week clubbing for four years, etc, etc. And
coming out of all that in the end with a kind of acknowledgment that
although that may now seem like wasted time, for them it was all part of
the process and what it took to get to where they are now.
These guys are all sincere and I believe them. It is easy for me to look
at, say Ozzie and think, well heck the guy's good looking, no wonder he
pulls. It would be too convenient for me to therefore dismiss what he
says. I'm sure his looks help, but getting more of a feel for who he is
through his presentation and humour, made me realize that what he has is
something anyone can get. Not saying it would be easy, but it is possible.
The guys are very realistic about what it takes to get good. The
marketing material may read a bit quick-fix but the seminar message
makes it clear that it is going to take work. There's a price to pay to
get good. I really admire the guys for going the difficult route with
their seminar. They don't present a "Do this, do that and you'll get
laid" crowd-pleasing guide. There isn't one. They're not pushing a
popular message here.
There seems to have been quite a shift in RSD thinking towards Inner
Game. They didn't spend much time on techniques and even when they did
were pretty clear on the game not being about the techniques. ie that
material that would work for them works because of who they are and how
they do it, not because of the material. I had a night of trying
variants of their "I like salad" opener and bombed pretty much every
time. Plenty of "You're the weird guy", looks from women. Don't worry,
guys, I've stopped crying now.
Unlike other courses/products, the guys aren't trippy or mystical about
Inner Game. This isn't affirmations, or pretend stuff. In fact they're
not really teaching, as such. There aren't Inner Game Techniques. It is
just the guys there sharing who they are, giving examples and telling it
like it is for them. By the end, the message as I heard it was pretty
clear - If you want to get good at this, you already know what you need
to do and now you just need to step up as a man and do it.
I suspect that this seminar may not be for everyone in its current form.
(I understand that they're doing at least one more like it that will be
turned into a audio/dvd product, but don't know if they'll continue to
run it the way it is after that)
The guys don't sugar-coat game and they don't pander to the PUA
obsession with games, lines, openers and material. I'm mixed on whether
or not this would make a good beginner seminar. The guys are great role
models and definitely would set you on the right track. I don't know,
though, if some of it would be a shade advanced - a lot of knowledge and
terminology is assumed.
For an advanced guy, this seminar could also be tricky - there is a
pretty strong message running throughout. You've probably already heard
it, though. Thing is, if you're not where you want to be, then you're
probably not really hearing that message properly. The seminar will help
you there. It is inspirational stuff. Also at an advanced level, you've
got the world's top PUAs there. It'll be up to you to ask the right
questions to milk that. The guys are there to help and will answer.
I felt that this seminar was RSD's way of "Doing the Right Thing". I'd
been a shade unconvinced by some of their earlier stuff. I'd seen it
working but still felt something up with it. Hard to put a finger on,
but Jeffy (very roughly paraphrased) spoke about being a person who had
a thin veneer of game over a person that wasn't who he wanted to be, or
even especially liked being. The guys spoke about how many men (selves
included) use game and sex as their form of validation. There was a real
emphasis this time on internal validation. Because the guys have the
experience, they present this with real life examples. For me, this
really helped bring the seminar away from the abstract and down to reality.
On a personal note, I feel that Tyler and RSD have changed a lot since
we first met. I'd previously found Tyler a little hard to relate to and
maybe a bit too socially guarded behind the PUA persona. That's gone now
and leaves behind a genuine guy. He's had to go through goodness knows
what to get there. He strikes me as a very driven person and I'm
grateful that he has taken the time to share what he has learned with
others.

Brad P. (www.datinggurubrad.com): DO YOU WORK TOO MUCH? This is a pattern I've noticed for quite some time that is preventing people from improving their game.
Here's the way it goes-
-You spend some time each day studying on ASF or with a CD/DVD.
-You have the strategic/technical part of the game well understood, and you even go out weekly to try this stuff out.
-Results aren't always that great, even though PU ideas sounded great on paper. It can be discouraging, but you plod on. First 1000 approaches don't count....right??
The major part of the game that I find most people in this situation neglect is developing their identity. None of this stuff is gonna work if you have the identity of a loser. You'll always communicate low value.
Ok but you already know that. It's been stressed to you in many CDs, on the Internet, in eBooks that you need to change yourself into a cool guy. David D talks all about it. So does Tyler and most other guys who are worth listening to.
Perhaps you identify some areas that need work. Going to the gym would help. Maybe an improv class or acting lessons would make you more socially adept.
But that gym membership doesn't amount to much, and you never get around to doing that comedy class. You just do the usual 20 minutes a day on ASF while at work then listen to a seduction CD on the car ride home. As a result, your identity and personality don't really change much. If you
started with a loser identity, you now have the identity of loser who is well educated about seduction and social dynamics. Educated loser- not quite what you had in mind.
This is so common, and every time I see it I ask the guy how many hours a week he works. I'm hearing people doing 50, 60, 80 hours a week.
If you're studying, sarging, and not progressing very fast, there's a good chance it's because you're working too much.
You are not going to improve very quickly if you work that more than 40 hours a week. 30 hours is even better, although that's a hard situation to find.
Enriching your identity is a HUGE UNDERTAKING. You need time. You need focus. You need leeway for experimentation.
I say this at the risk of draining the seduction community of the cash that pays for these expensive workshops. I say this knowing that there will be resistance to the idea of reducing your workload considerably. This community is comprised largely of guys who in the past tried to succeed with women by making a lot of money, then when that didn't work they came here. It's a great idea to come here. The problem is that people continue to cling to the belief that money creates attraction. Money doesn't make women horny. It makes them want to go on a shopping spree.
Work less. Change jobs if you have to. Change careers. Get demoted. Do something. All you're doing is making your boss richer and chasing a paycheck that doesn't improve your life as much as free time would. You're cheating yourself by working so much.
Don't do it for "the game," do it for yourself. Do it to become a more well developed person. You can go back to a 70 hour week later if you choose.
Think about how the average college student lives- constantly building his social circle, constantly trying to develop himself. Scraping by financially, but getting laid quite a bit. It's a more effective lifestyle than someone who works 75 hours and buys a big house that women never come to.
Just being in the PROCESS of developing your identity makes you give off a special energy that is attractive to women.
Why do you feel you need to make so much money? Is it filling an empty space inside you? Do you think it's gonna make women like you? Using money as your PRIMARY way to attract women is self defeating, ineffective, and contradicts most of what you're learning in this community.
Since the beginning of the industrial revolution, American businesses have escalated their brand of psychological warfare, advertising, to play on your emotions and make you think you need things you really don't need. Think about how many things you didn't need 5 years ago that you now feel you can't live without- ipods, palm pilots, plasma TVs, satellite radio. Corporate America has implanted an artificial sense of emotional neediness in all of us.
I have lawyer friends who tell me about the manipulative ways bosses get people to work insane hours. The senior partners will flaunt fancy cars and high price items in front of the lower partners in an attempt to motivate them to work harder and work longer. It works. What other subtle ways might people be manipulating each other in the workplace to encourage the 80 hour work week?
Many people see money as the magic pill to succeeding with women. Even after learning that most women respond more to personality, and that golddigging women are undesirable, they still hold onto their AFC beliefs about money.
The majority of people who work 50+ hours are trapped by their lifestyle. As you go from making 25k to 50k to 100k, you adjust your lifestyle and spending accordingly. You're always committing yourself to things that are slightly out of your financial reach. "Sure my rent is too high, but with this next raise I'll be able to afford it easily." That kind of thinking is how you become trapped by your lifestyle. It's human nature. We always want just a little bit more. We always want what we can't have.
If you have money, great. Use it to your advantage. It's a nice little DHV. Use everything you can to your advantage when dealing with women. But consider what kind of a trade off you're making when you sacrifice your identity in the pursuit of money. Identity counts more than money.
Seems like this will be an unpopular idea, but I want to help you improve so I hope it's been thought provoking.

Is it killing your 'game'?
You need to free yourself from the shackles of technique.
Why would I say this?
I give out a sh*tload of techniques because they do help you out.
Training wheels, right? That's how they're supposed to be used, but that
analogy doesn't begin to cover it.
Techniques have a MUCH deeper impact on your game than you realize.
I'm going to tell you first about "The Gap." I spoke about this concept at
the Cliff's List Convention in Montreal, and I want to pass this on to you right now so that
you won't be lost down the path of "Lonely Pickup Artist."
Techniques fulfill an important purpose that many guys don't realize.
Techniques allow you to be another person, to leave behind the faulty belief
systems, damaged self-confidence, and other limiting behaviors and step into
the shoes of your alter ego. It's a bit like putting on a super hero outfit
and becoming Spider-man or Batman.
Just like Halloween, for a few hours, you can let go of all that crap in
your head and just play the part.
"Hey ladies, who lies more..."
"That reminds me of when I was in Europe and I met this..."
"You know, you have a really great energy about you..."
"Have you ever heard of the Cube?"
Yadda yadda yadda.
Eventually, though, the clever dialogue runs out, doesn't it?
It ALWAYS does. The first part of most guy's outer game is just staying in
set long enough to make it go somewhere deeper than a phone number. I see
this as being the biggest developmental hurdle for most guys at my seminars.
Techniques allow you to escape yourself a little bit, but guess what?
You can never escape yourself forever. Like they say, wherever you go, there
you are.
And The Gap hits you in the face when you've been chatting and running
routines, and running kino, and eventually you feel the space between this
pickup persona you've been crafting for yourself, and the REAL man inside
you.
You see, your mind knows when you're playing this alter ego, and when you're
true to yourself.
Even though it sounds like I'm dismissing the use of techniques, I'm not.
I'm warning guys about the over-use and reliance on schtick and routines to
carry their personality.
Just like drugs, it's easy to become so over-dependent on this false persona
that you wake up one day and realize you were being a one-dimensional guy.
Trust me when I say that all the (you-know-what between a woman's legs) in
the world cannot help your cataclysmic meltdown when you build a lifestyle
on such a superficial and fragile belief system.
It's like the woman who's a 9 or a 10 waking up one way with crow's feet in
her eyes, and a saggy, aging body. Her self-confidence crashes horribly as
she realizes she never had any REALIZED inner value. It was all based on the
junk bonds of her appearance.
Of course, your "techniques" can be made into yourself, and they MUST if
this skill of att raction is to stick. But eventually, all guys feel the
need to get back to who you REALLY are. We can only be an actor for so long
before it haunts you.
You know what... ?
It's coming, guys.
There will be a day very soon when women are well versed in the lines and
the standard openers, and your "game" will be over faster than the XFL.
In fact, if you haven't been caught yet, you probably haven't been
approaching women in the real world as much as you should. (i.e., outside a
loud, alcohol saturated bar environment.)
So here's how you bridge that great divide between the "pickup artist" and
the "REAL Alpha Man" inside you:
1) Stop using techniques that are working great for you.
Why would I say this?
Because it's not the technique or the "opening line" that's working for you.
It's only your belief, polish, and confidence in it that makes it work.
What you need to do is substitute something of YOU that you can pull off
with the same attitude and frame. When you accomplish this, you'll really
have transcended "pickup artist" and become an Alpha Man.
2) When you can open sets consistently, start asking questions that REALLY
matter to you.
Stop opening conversations with mindless fluff like "Who lies more" and
others like it. Especially if you have no real concern except for the
outcome of getting her started talking to you.
It's time to put a few more plates on the barbells.
Tap into your inner beliefs and desires to come up with things that you
REALLY want to know about her. Find your real curiosity for what makes her
tick.
My social worker ex-girlfriend used to call this "breaking them down" and
it's a priceless method of cutting through the social B.S. and demonstrating
your Independent Value.
I've had incredible experiences seducing a woman's soul instead of just
trying to trigger a few unstable defense mechanisms by making her feel
insecure.
True confidence is when you walk up and open a group without saying a single
word. Try it for yourself.
3) Start exposing your TRUE personality when you go out there.
This is what I called demonstrating vulnerability. Having the personal power
to show your own emotional depth is ten times more authentic and sincere.
And women KNOW it.
You'll find yourself achieving new levels of at traction with women that
will make your old makeout-in-the-bar situations sound as lame as a George
Lucas love dialogue.
The one thing that vulnerability demonstrates is POWER. This is the little
known factor that most guys miss because they're locked into "insecurity
armor" mode. This is where he is too busy protecting his insecurities and
lack of confidence with his bravado.
(Bravado is nothing more than simulated courage.)
Get past technique so that you can create your own style of masculine
identity.

How To Develop a Magnetic Gaze That Attracts Anyone Anytime - Part 3
How would you like to have a gaze that attracts people to you? They
can't look away from your eyes. They become magnetically attracted to them. Imagine that while you’re talking with someone from the opposite sex they just can't look away from your eyes. You have something that fascinates other people. If no one complemented your eyes…they will just after you learn the magnetic gaze.
This is the third part of this course. If you've just stumbled upon this

An interesting thing happened this week. One of my older students, a
Spanish young man of 28 years old who has been practicing the gaze for the
past 6 months, emailed me with this: "Last Saturday I was in a club hanging out with friends and I started experimenting with the Attraction Gaze with the girls around me. There
was one particular girl that as I looked directly into her eyes with
the Attraction Gaze, she just kept staring! She was hooked like glue! In
a few minutes she approached me with the obvious line: 'You have the
most intense eyes I ever saw.' We ended up talking to each other for the rest of the night." The Attraction Gaze is something you will soon learn. And yes, you are
right, this is just a teaser to keep you from giving up! You don't
develop this gaze in a few days or a couple of weeks. It takes a daily commitment for a few months! Most people are not up to it, that’s why they don't get results in most (all??) of the self-help things they've tried.
They end up in frustration wondering why things don't work for them
after they've tried them for three whole weeks.
Wake up!
You had a habit your whole life and you did things one way your whole life…how are you expecting to get results in whatever self-help program in two or three weeks?? And you are lucky that in just a few months you
can get results. I practiced some things in my life that I only got
fully developed after 5 years! Yes, you need will power and the
necessary self-confidence to know that you will succeed!
Last time I promised you a second experiment. This one is very common since it was used several times to prove the "sense of being stared at."
Experiment 2: the sense of being stared at
The next time you find yourself sitting in a movie theater, bus, streetcar, train or airplane, gaze at the back of someone’s head. The
best spot to gaze at is the back of the neck, or "death chakra ", located in the center just above where the backbone starts. Do this until your "victim" either turns around, scratches his or her neck, or wiggles around nervously. Then try it on a new target person.
First try it with people right in front of you. As you achieve success
with this, increase the distance. As you stare, keep saying over and over in your mind like a broken record: "TURN AROUND". But say it with CONFIDENCE! You must really believe you can do it. And more
importantly, don't quit right away if you can't do it the first few times.
As for this lesson's exercises: by now, you should have no problem achieving
at least 3m with both tasks of last session's exercises. If you can't,
then don't advance any further. Keep practicing until you can reach at
least 3m in both. This session you will SWITCH between the "Dot on the Wall" exercise and the
"Third Eye" exercise. For example: on Monday you will do the "dot on the
wall", on Tuesday you will do the "Third Eye", on Wednesday you do the
"dot on the wall" again and so on. Keep switching. There is no time limit now. The more the better but the minimum is always 3m.
ASIDE FROM THAT, I'll add one more to do EVERYDAY.
Exercise 3: " Zig-Zag " Stand with your back against the wall. Straighten your spine. Face
towards the opposite wall. Shift your gaze rapidly from one point to
another - from left to right, up and down, do a circle, do a square,
zig-zag, etc. Just keep your eyes moving from one point to the other
very rapidly without stopping. Do 3m to 5m. So, your task for the next 7 days is: start with either the "dot on the
wall" or the "Third Eye", next do the " Zig-Zag ". You will switch the first two, but do the zig-zag everyday.

Previously they were mainly held in Toronto as part of the Learning Annex, Doc is now setting it up here and plans to hold events on a monthly basis.

The fall calendar has a full weekend seminar and makeover. He also has 3 new books coming out this fall under the SETNA Dating Manual Series. Volume I (to be released this week) deals with the psychology of attraction, first impressions, and working on your inner game, Volume II (coming in September) deals with tactics and strategies to go from meeting her to dating her, and Volume III will deal with Managing Relationships.
Full-weekend Dating Makeover workshops will be offered soon (including a half day with a personal stylist, video tape analysis of body language, and live practice sessions with dating coaches beautiful women who will give the guys on the spot feedback on how they come across and what to improve). If there is a group of 10 or more guys interested in a seminar (or 5 guys for a workshop, he would consider making a special trip to their city).

If you are opening groups (or sets: 2-sets, 3-sets, mixed sets, etc) of people with the 3 second rule by stacking indirect openers (including false opinion openers), false time constraining (discovered by Style), demonstrating a higher value to your romantic interest’s peer group with high octane DHVs while she obliquely observes (locking her into her own set with a prop), and simultaneously performing false disqualifiers (which include negs) on her with the intension of disarming her peergroup and then isolating her to rebuild her self-esteem once you have enough IOIs (indicators of interest) so you may share in a comfort and trust building effort and then build in a jealousy subplot to solidify her attraction for you, you are using The Mystery Method.
If instead you are only approaching women who are alone, you are greatly limiting your options and quite likely alienating your target's friends.
