the new Taste:
A quick introduction: the name is Taste, I was the Stylelife Challenge (www.stylelife.com/) winner and I received the prize of Intensive Inner Game training with Hypnotica (Eric) (www.hypnotica.org). but Steve P (www.stevepiccus.com) and Cameron Teone (www.buildattraction.com) joined in my journey. The flight cost and hotel were included and all paid for by Style.
This turned into a bigger journey then I had expected and it continues to grow now...
This is going to take me a bit of thinking to properly place most things. Also note that my personal stuff is left out, because it doesn’t need to be discussed.
It was the night before in San Diego, and I could feel the nervous rush building up inside of me. I had never flown before and it was one of the biggest fears I had to counter.
Xtra and my family took me to the airport. I could feel the thoughts in my head rushing back... "What happens if I get lost?" "What if..."
It was time to leave for my new journey. The first plane ride was pretty nerve wrecking and it actually made me lose my deepish voice. I think taking off was the worst part and the fact that I had a fear of heights.
When I got to Amsterdam I was nervous as hell. My confidence was wrecked and this is when I realized that I wasn't an expert in my game. I was an expert at being relaxed in my own town, in my own comfy zones... So to push out of that took me a lot.
From being a 3 year recluse to doing something like this deserves a lot of credit in my mind. I had to thank myself and this was my reward for getting out there, of becoming the self I always wanted to be and not living in a bullshit fantasy.
I wanted to go home after this. I felt like crap and I didn't want to go through with it. I felt like a scared child, but something in my mind told me to shut up and be a man!
France was up next and I have got to tell you, the French are very strict on flights. It made me even more nervous being interrogated by a guy who I could hardly understand. The airport was massive, and I had to use my half assed social skills to get myself from A to B.
My flight to Cincinnati was amazing! They had movies to occupy me, although this is where I encountered jet leg. I was hallucinating while reading "The Game" en route. I was an expert in some areas and that’s why I wanted to help people...but I wasn't an expert in myself. I was focused on other people and I had neglected my own self to help other people overcome the stuff I had overcome in the past. But what I found out was that I was not as confident as I thought I was. I have been giving myself a self fulfilling fantasy that I had been living, which temporarily did help me. However, as soon as reality struck the fantasy shattered. I was already shedding my old skin...
The San Diego flight was the ice breaker for me. My mind was telling me, I am on the edge of the cliff ready to be changed, all I had to do was jump off it and explore it. Life was waiting for me to grab it and take it by the nipples, it was an experience that I needed to go through with.
I got to the San Diego airport and stood around waiting for my limo. I was getting cold, as time passed and passed. I looked everywhere, maybe it was due to my flight being a little delayed but, with no limo, I had to get to the hotel somehow.
So here I am in a different country and I had to pluck up the courage to search about. Everything was new and I needed to get to the hotel before I passed out from jet leg.
I used my initiative and found a taxi. It was very different from British taxi's and it took me awhile to discover that they were parked behind me the whole time.
As soon as I got to the hotel, I was tired. At the same time, I wanted to stay up, yet I wanted to sleep. I wanted to go home, yet I wanted to stay. It didn't plan out the way I thought it would. This is what I would have called my pain process.
At 3 A.M. I got woken up by my Dad asking how I was. I told him I was great and he told me that everyone was proud of me for going on my own on my first plane trip to a different country. This is when I felt that I needed to stay and stick with this experience.
I started to appreciate what Style had done for me much more. It wasn't the whole weekend as I hadn't experienced that as of yet. It was the fact that I was coming out of a bigger shell that I had created, a shell that was invisible to me.
In the morning I noticed two things. I was thirsty and I was sweating like a pig. I also needed to clean up. This place was hot to me and sweat became like a form of clothing in this strange place. I would take a shower and within 10 minutes I would sweat again. Maybe it was due to my being overweight. I couldn't care about this, all I know is that I needed some better deodorant then the cheap shit I had in my bag.
The phone started ringing... it was Eric (Hypnotica). He had a husky American accent that spoke of wise words. I could tell this guy had a strong sense of who he was. He asked, "How are you doing buddy?" I stuttered as I didn't know what to say. My mind was in overload and I couldn't think properly about my words, my confidence, taste, etc., it was all gone. It was an illusion I created to get out of the panic attacks and depression. "I'm going to have a limo pick you up around 8 and we are going to meet up. I'll analyze your behavior and find out what you truly want to learn before we get into the deep stuff." He took his time to speak, and I noticed he really thought about his words. I understood every word and my first impression of Eric was that he was a guy who explains what he is about to do. He doesn't like to leave you confused.
That phone call gave me confidence. I decided I should go out to the mall and get some items while I can, because I knew I was in for some very long days.
So I decided to check the plaza out. I had no where else to go because I felt nervous just going out into a strange place. I thought to myself that I could get lost easily.
So with my map and everything I had learnt from my own method of teaching, I embarked upon a journey that involved beggars, pimps, prostitutes and guys with knives.
Yes guys with knives but they were actually friendly! They seemed to be in some sort of gang but they showed me the way to the plaza which was nice of them. I gave them both a cigarette for taking me there. On the way I encountered a lot of beggars. This made me sad to see, even if they were just merely junkies, because where I come from we don't have this. I gave a few dollars here and there to random homeless guys.
The mall was amazing. It was so big, yet I didn't recognize any shop names that were of value to me... so I decided to go into random shops. I was looking for a lighter to smoke my cigarettes so I decided to go into the cigar shop.
The people in there were very friendly. They recognized my accent and we talked for awhile about how my town is. After that, the owner gave me a lighter for free and some matches. He also recommended me some places to go, which was pretty cool. I felt calm...
The hot topic was for me to find the place to find my items. It was my style of clothing. I was a punk rocker and I was very welcome here. The hired gun
stared at me, giving me indicators of interest. I knew I had to open her.... "Hey, how are you today?" Her eyes glowed and she responded, "OMG you are not from around here, are you?" This ended up in a discussion of how we British are so reserved, yet people here are so friendly. I decided to use my thumb wrestling routine. At this point, I was going purely on Taste Method. I then went on to do a palm reading, which she loved. Then out of thin air she wanted my email address and made an excuse that she wanted to know of what I think of the new "Senses Fail" album when I get hold of it.
After my shopping, I headed back to the hotel. I decided to go on the net and posted a small FR. A hot topic chick was on MSN at the time and she wanted to come around to the hotel and hang out, but I had plans with Eric. So I got showered and prepared to meet one of the best.
It was 8:15 and I was waiting outside. While I talked to this girl who was waiting for a taxi, I had no intention of closing her. In San Diego I learned that you can just be sociable and still have fun.
The limo turned up and the limo driver was one of the friendliest guys I met while down there. We had a lot in common and he told me about Eric, the place he worked and stuff. We pulled right outside his strip bar and the limo driver went to get Eric. While I waited, I had a quick smoke outside and noticed guys stumbling past me who looked pretty satisfied and drunk out their fucking skulls. Eric came out of the strip bar with the limo driver and greeted me with a manly handshake. He was very confident and I could immediately tell why he had the gift to inspire people.
We talked about my issues and stuff in the limo. He listened, which not many people did do with me. Probably because sometimes I can speak shit and not notice I am doing it. This is when I noticed he wasn't a guru, he wasn't the mastermind, he was more of an inspiration. He was human just like us, he was still learning stuff, and he had been where I had been. Apparently I looked like him when I was younger, overweight and everything.
We talked about of my 3 years of depression, when I was drinking too much and I gained a lot of weight due to this. The good thing was that I wanted to change, so when the Stylelife Challenge started, I signed up for the gym and I went from a 56 inch waist to a 46 inch waist. Now I am slowly getting there, but Eric made me realize that looks don't make a person. How they present themselves and how they come off congruently with that creates their identity. It was about being healthy.
It was hard for me to analyze what I wanted because in my mind I just wanted to be confident. He told me confidence was a process, something we all have. We just get influenced by our processes. So it was really hard to find what I really wanted and didn't discover much as I started to deeply think about it after. When I said something out of nervousness or by thinking, I could see Eric using pattern interrupts to get me out of that frame of mind. He explained everything in clear detail and he wanted me to write a chapter of what I want from this in order to get a better understanding. But as we were talking, I was thinking about what I wanted to become, rather then think of what I want to get rid of... I want to become the person who doesn't give a fuck what other people think. Due to the drama in the community, I felt like I had to impress guys on here. It wasn't who I wanted to be; I just got caught up in all that.
I didn't like the way people had opinions of me, but he showed me that it was a way of life and that the process of ignoring them is what makes us stronger.
After coffee, the night ended. Tomorrow was going to be a big day. I was going to meet Steve P and a guy named Sam. In Eric's own words, Sam is a "dark mother fucker," so I was pretty intimidated by that.
I decided to write my chapter and at the end I put a little comedy into it. I wanted to see the light side to all this. Finally I took a shower and went to bed. The next day, Sam and Dean (Eric’s roommate) picked me up in Eric's car outside the Bristol. He greeted me with a fucking massive bear hug. Now I am a huge guy and he crushed my stomach lol. Now these guys were definitely inspired by Eric and Steve. Sam told me I needed to loosen up and relax, because he could see my posture and how it was tense. He was right that I did need to relax. Soon, though, I was going to meet two people who help people change their lives. And the one thing I feared most in my life was change itself.
Sam was a funny guy, he would tell story after story and he got me to loosen up a little. He bought some Bud Lights and we drank on the way to Eric's house. As soon as we were near Eric's house, they put a shirt over my head. They wanted to surprise me or something. It was part of their plan, so I didn't know what the fuck was going on. All I knew is that I was on a hill and that I looked like a fucking hostage with a beer in my hand.
They placed me in a room that had ambient music. It sounded like birds whistling and then all of a sudden I heard a deep voice say "What is your name?" I was pretty intimidated of the whole process. I had on what would be like a fucking turban covering my face and I couldn't relax... "Adam," I said in an almost stuttering voice. "What do you want to learn?" he questioned. I felt pretty fucking nervous so without thinking I said "To not be nervous, to be my best self, to be confident." I still had my beer in my hand. He removed the shirt off my face and I saw that it was Steve P. He wore an almost Indiana Jones-like hat. His style was a mix of cowboy/Indiana Jones/ Indian - all he was missing was a whip. Steve was pretty fucking intense. He cut through the bullshit and got to the problems. Some were very personal so I will not discuss them here. Let's just say he used some techniques on me to feel calm in his presence.
I felt hypnotized here, although he didn't put me under. His words were soothing. He was teaching me and while I couldn't remember much of it, what I do remember is Eric coming in the room and with the two of them put together they are a fucking amazing duo.
I noticed they made up for each of their counterparts. Eric would explain shit, where Steve would cut through the shit. They were different, but combined they were deadly. I had anxiety and Steve pretty much got rid of it within 5 minutes. He said "Now try and trace that anxiety back" and I couldn't, even though I tried and tried. "I can't," I stuttered. "Pretty fucking cool, eh?" Steve was a relaxed guy who knew his stuff. He enhanced people's lives and I could tell that this was his passion. They weren't gurus in my eyes, they were big brothers, teaching me and taking me under their wings.
My style of clothing didn't match up to San Diego's standards. Where I come from, I pretty much dress punk rock/casual. So Eric decided to get me set up.
Eric took me to a hair stylist, after which my hair no longer was of Emo standards. It was cool, it was in fashion and he paid for it. I felt guilty that he was paying for my improvements, but he smiled and said "It's your weekend." He has a way of making people feel special. Eric and Steve both have a way of finding the good qualities in guys and bringing them out. I was already becoming the person I wanted to be. The old Taste was dying, and I didn't need him anymore.
After my haircut, Eric shocked me yet again. He bought me some fucking cool clothes. The guys knew I wanted to improve my weight. They could see it, they could see the fact that I have already been working out. I was getting a deep understanding of who I wanted to become. After taking a shower at Eric's (which I had an hard time to turn the fucking tap on as his shower was so difficult), I heard his roommate playing the guitar.
Now this would be where I became the confident me. Having spent 5 years playing guitar, I said "Let me show you something." I played him a tune he loved it. He put it with drumbeats and I could tell Eric's roommate Dean had a passion that I had too. This was also a realizing event of knowing that my passion aligned with music as well.
After they finished, I was finally a new me looking a proper fucking stud rather then the punked up nerd I was before. I was more confident in myself, I liked the way I looked and I had Eric to thank for that. Like I said, he has a way of making people feel special about them, and he made me feel special. It was time to leave as tomorrow was going to be an even bigger day. Steve wanted to put me into a trance so he was going to take me to the hotel and do some hypnosis on me. Unfortunately the parking was so shit, me and Steve found it hard to find a suitable spot. The guy was pretty fucking funny when he was angry though. I got in the hotel where I noticed that people were looking at me. Women approached me. It was amazing how a simple change can be so life changing.
As soon as I got to the hotel, I felt like shit about my past. I had suffered 3 years of utter shit. There were days were I just wanted to kill myself, but I didn't even have the guts to do that. To do something like flying on my own to a different country was hard for me. Everything was hard, but I did it and I was changing. I wanted those 3 years back, and Eric and Steve helped make me get those 3 years back.
I no longer gave a shit about all the criticism on Stylelife or wanting validation on anything. It was petty. I was in my own reality, this was a spiritual fucking journey on a spiritual fucking level.
The next day was amazing. Steve took me to the Pow Wow Festival of Indians. He felt kind of bad for not speaking to me much while he did his own thing, but I couldn't give a fuck. This culture was so interesting to see that I was mesmerized by it. I had always shared a liking to Indians and their way of life.
Cameron Teone (The One) turned up. This guy had fucking game, but it wasn't just any game. It was natural game. We talked a hell of a lot about the community, and he wanted to get a feel of where I am pickup-wise. I told him about my stuff, the taste method, which was dying to me. Taste method was about the illusion of confidence, faking it till you make it. But this here, this San Diego experience was reality.
So we went back to Eric's place and they did some deep trance stuff with me. Now I don't mention any of this because I can't fucking remember any details. I am only getting slight epiphanies of what happened, but they spoke at the same time, each on different sides of me. It was soothing. Now I used to be afraid of hypnosis, because I got scammed for thousands of dollars by this guy who claimed he was a hypnotist. But these guys were the real fucking deal and I was under. It felt like only 2 minutes had gone by, but already I had a slight change.
After that, it was time to head to the California beach. They wanted to see if I had approach anxiety and stuff. Now this is what I am an expert in, approach anxiety to me equals 0 because I learned how to get over that. Cameron Teone would send me over to some girls and told me to use natural game, it was so much fucking better. "Hey guys, I am not from around here, do you know any cool places to party?" It didn't matter what I said. It was about being easy going.
This is where I changed completely. Cameron Teone showed me that openers weren't for me I was a theory guy, who loved theories like the cat theory. I hate openers. He showed me the way to be natural, in as little as 2 hours. This guy had so much fucking confidence, yet he was so easy going. He was sociable because he didn't give a fuck. If there is one guy I want to learn pick up from, it's this guy.
Eric and Steve kept smiling. They were plotting. I knew it and they had something in store for me. So as soon as we had our burger and got back to Eric's place, it was time for a shower and to get ready. I could tell we were going out, but they wouldn't tell me any more. Steve left and it was just me, Eric and Cameron.
After we all got ready, we drove a long fucking distance into what I would call the middle of fucking no where. I thought to myself don't tell me you're going to take me on a mountain and do hypnosis and confidence building on me. I hate fucking mountains. It turned out we weren't and we ended up in fucking Mexico!
We went to this bar that I can't remember the name of. All I know is that it was a strip bar beginning with the letter 'A.'
This is where I thought to myself I need to game some women. There were so many fucking girls. Eric had a smile on his face. We had some beers and I was having a fucking awesome time. Bars are definitely my thing, and this is where I was the guy who knew his shit. All of a sudden, 3 girls came to sit on my lap. I started gaming them, teasing them, and, being natural, they loved it. Something was happening and while I don't want to be a braggart so let's just say one room + 3 girls x 2 = nuts busted. We got back to Eric’s place, and I was pretty fucking tired after that. We had an awesome chat of who I wanted to be. I felt it already. I knew who I wanted to be now. They had awakened me and I realized that I was merely sleeping before.
Then I had to video a bit of what happened for the Challengers, so Eric got his camera out. But I couldn't make much sense after the Mexico experience as I was tired as hell. I didn't even know what I was going on about lol, if you see the video you will see I looked knackered to fuck haha.
It was time to say our goodbyes but I felt it wasn't going to be forever. I have all their email addresses so I'm keeping in touch, but I just want to say:
The Stylelife Challenge was an amazing experience. It was something I needed to have in order to be awakened. It has made me who I want to be today. These guys were like brothers to me. They cared about me, they enhanced my life, and all I can say is thank you. I am honoured. I don't see you guys as seduction gurus, I see you guys as people who inspire other people. That's what this shit's all about; inspiring, making the world a better place. You guys changed my life for the better and to repay you guys I am going to live this new positive change and take in all your advice.
Thanks to Style, you helped make this happen, man. I loved it and it was an amazing experience. It changed my outlook on life.

Four hours after the whole experience and after I got off the plane, I hung out with Xtra. We went around to the casinos and stuff where I opened lots of girls with a natural conversation. I can see the improvement already.

Living a vibrant social life
I think a lot of us despite our sincere efforts are getting entangled into the 'web' of monotony thus gradually drying out the essential juice of life.
We get caught into frustrating work, relationship arguments, unmet desires, not able to do 50 things we want to do or which are perpetually getting postponed despite our intensive efforts. We keep postponing 'diving into the juice of life' for that 'one day', when we are relieved of all worries, we have sorted our issues, most of our goals are met,our relationships are smooth and non-argumentative and we have gathered enough resources/assets/money. My impression is such ideal times, will never come. And we may risk postponing the 'juice-diving-odyssey' endlessly.
One way to start experiencing life in a parallel lane, away from all the harshness and rigors is to start developing a rocking social life and intensify our involvements in hobbies which give us pleasure.
Let's talk briefly about creating a smashingly exciting social life. It means meeting individuals who one really likes. It's like the coming together of awesome, positive and energy inspiring presences which culminate together, celebrate together and feel great about themselves and wish great things to people they sit and meet with. This can be a very refreshing way to start developing an authentic social life. Not a fake social life where one has to go to boring parties, nod at boring talks, politely smile at boring jokes, or meet people who have hidden-agendas which makes others uncomfortable. There are tons of such social groups.
An awesome social group is one where people come together to celebrate and have fun generally. They don't want anything from anyone. They are not sad or pissed about anything. They genuinely like people they surround themselves with. They are not trying to be ego-jerks wanting attention of 'how great their achievements are.' They are also not boring people.
They have great ideas, hobbies and energy which throbs inside them. They are not seeking fake limelight, but good vibes, and they are not dull, shy or famished of ideas. They believe in comfortable-vibes and comfortable-vibes can be experienced just by someone's presence. One doesn't need too many words or jokes or anything to make another person comfortable.
And if such people meet and start interacting, it is likely that everyone despite their diverse experiences, passions and outlooks about life, will when come together and can be an awesome way to mingle and feel great about each other.
One idea to do this is to start with meeting 20 people in casual, no expectations, general chill out way, like in a party. And if the group feels comfortable then expand it to 40 people. (Each member brings one new friend to the group.) The male-female ratio is kept in perspective to avoid Nerdy-People-Having-Big-Bellies-Big Problems. A group should have people who lend energy, not suck energy and who are genuinely nice folks to know. Also avoiding arrogant self-proclaimed 'divas' is good idea. Some attractive women whom society has put too much premium on, inflating their heads in the process, such people are completely avoidable. They don't give good vibes. All they want is people around them to notice them and blow their hollow egos which conceal their empty personalities. Good looking women are welcome, but not arrogant and zero personality women. Right now, most of the people I meet I sense they want to meet nice people. But nobody really has any ideas or convictions to get this going. Most of them land-up meeting 5-6 people as friends that they have known for several years and see them by going to some restaurant, nightclub or inviting them somewhere.
This approach will never allow 'cross-pollination' of interesting people and interesting ideas. We will remain stuck in our silos busy with same 5-6 people we have known forever.

I did one party where I invited 35 people (20 turned up, the remaining 15 gave some mundane excuses and missed out meeting great people which is their loss). The guests, I thought, were on similar wavelengths and had fun together and got along well.
Now maybe we can start something like this again.
In terms of hobbies, I have started some funky yoga experiments, and one of the experiments involve practising silent-ways for 3 months.
Which means I only speak, when I want to and what I want to, no matter how impolite it looks to another person. It cuts the crap and let the authentic stuff remain.

New Dating/Seduction Seminars & Workshop in Montreal by DOC!
Doc, who many of you know from his great interview here last time and all too rare but outstanding posts on this list, on Mystery's Lounge, and the Montreal Lair, is bringing his seminars and speed dating events to Montreal. Previously they were mainly held in Toronto as part of the Learning Annex, Doc is now setting it up here and plans to hold events on a monthly basis.

What method are YOU using?
If you are opening groups (or sets: 2-sets, 3-sets, mixed sets, etc) of people with the 3 second rule by stacking indirect openers (including false opinion openers), false time constraining (discovered by Style), demonstrating a higher value to your romantic interest’s peer group with high octane DHVs while she obliquely observes (locking her into her own set with a prop), and simultaneously performing false disqualifiers (which include negs) on her with the intension of disarming her peergroup and then isolating her to rebuild her self-esteem once you have enough IOIs (indicators of interest) so you may share in a comfort and trust building effort and then build in a jealousy subplot to solidify her attraction for you, you are using The Mystery Method.
If instead you are only approaching women who are alone, you are greatly limiting your options and quite likely alienating your target's friends.
