I share the opinion that "Affirmations" are not as effective. In fact, I'd
say they're next to USELESS in today's society. Fabricio's observation about
the offsetting effects of the media is very true, and this particular method
has always had a limitation.
Put simply, Affirmations don't work because they lack emotional immediacy
and DEPTH. They have no BITE.
One of my techniques is the use of "Anthems." This is an affirmation that
rings in your head like one of those heavy metal anthems from the 80's. You
remember those, don't you?
"We're not going to take it!"
"You've got another thing comin..."
"Some heads are gonna roll..."
I remember the feeling that those songs gave me, and the associated
emotional feeling of power was INTENSE. Learning to harness this energy is
one of a man's most empowering tools.
In order for an "affirmation" to work, you must do the following:
1. State it in your own words
2. Really believe it on some level. (Otherwise you're fighting your own
self-image.)
3. Associate POWERFUL emotions with the words. You should be able to close
your eyes and feel a tingle of AWE at the impact of what you're saying.
(In NLP, this is called anchoring, and you can do it with simply the
emotionally visualized words.)
One of my personal Anthems is:
"I always WIN. No matter what happens, I always WIN."
This reminds me that no situation is a failure if I frame it correctly. And
it reminds me that NO ONE gets the better of me.
I cover the use of Anthems, as well as more inner game techniques in my
Alpha Man programs. Use them. They actually work.

With the bestseller " The Game " out to the public, shows like Dr. Phil featuring dating gurus, and the possibility of a major studio movie about pick-up in the works, the community is worried. Will girls know all our lines? What if we get " caught? " Will our tactics not work anymore?
If you are afraid of your game suffering from media exposure, I am here to present the vaccination for all your fears: The Real Social Dynamics Foundations Series. While Tyler made his name in a very routine-based, scripted style of pick-up, he has moved to a style that does not depend on routines. You can still use routines of course. In fact, this DVD set is stunningly compatible with every pick-up style out there. It ’ s just not necessary anymore to have scripted lines.
Tyler has identified specific elements needed in every pick-up. If you have these pieces in, you ’ re good, and the rules are not something you have to think about. Aside from a few specific examples Tyler gives in the series (which he warns you will be overused soon), if you do what he says, no girl will ever ask you in field " I ’ ve heard that before, have you read ‘ The Game ’ ? " His " openers " have turned from multi-level opinion-openers, to " Hey, what are you drinking? " " Hi, how are you doing tonight? " This is natural game at its best, fellas.
I have long thought that Tyler is the Buddha of pick-up. He sees the big picture of how the social matrix works, doesn ’ t dwell on the details, and works endlessly to bring people to his level. He does not deify himself, and cuts down any notion that he is cut from a different cloth. " What I can do, you can do, " is the message.
This is a DVD set that can be watched over and over again, to pick up the subtle details. I think people who have the audio-only set are at a significant disadvantage because they miss out on the facial expressions of Tyler ’ s delivery, as well as several kino (touch) demonstrations.
I began watching the set with a few friends in the living room who were excited to see this new RSD product. We popped in the first DVD, and about a half hour later, the people there with little to no cold-approach experience were bugging me to move to one of the later ones that had more " content " (routines, tactics, etc.) . I refused of course, as there was a ton of content available from the first ten minutes. I lent the DVDs to a master instructor at another pick-up teaching company, and he had the same experience. His friends who didn ’ t have practice in the field wanted to skip DVD 1. How ironic that the people who have the most pick-up experience are the ones who can get the most out of the introductory DVD of the set.
The DVD set is called " Foundations " for a reason. Tyler wants to build an indomitable structure from which you can eventually be effortless in getting the women you want. Because of that, he has to start at the bottom and give you a very stable foundation. He lays cement over the rocky ground so it ’ s even. If you don ’ t have the foundations, your structure will be rickety. The most advanced guys know this. Some parts may make you think " I KNOW this already. " But do you? Are you living your life by these principles? Ask yourself that. If you ’ re not, take notes and make sure you apply it.
Once you get past the initial master strategy, he takes you through every element necessary to be successful with women, including hooking the set ’ s attention, qualifying, vibing, and venue changing. Tyler has learned from more teachers than anyone in the community, so after 2 long years of waiting for a product, I was eager to see what principles he would keep and what he would set aside. Rest assured than anything he tells you to do is important to at least consider. He sets it up in such a simple fashion that it becomes apparent if you stick this out, you can have a lot of success.
On the second half of DVD 7, we get a hint of what his upcoming book, The Blueprint, will be like. This is a profound half hour, folks. To put it in perspective, I took 25 pages of notes on the whole 8 hour set, and 25% of my notes (6 pages) were from that half hour alone. A lot of pausing, writing, and contemplating. Tyler tells you where your state comes from, and how to make it come from your core confidence. This is not wishy-washy self help stuff; this is intense! You can see Tyler ’ s passion about the subject, and by the end of DVD 8 you are left with the conclusion that Tyler will eventually transcend the pick-up scene and become the next Anthony Robbins.
In the last parts of DVDs 7 and 8, Tyler explains what really makes someone attractive to women and general, in terms of how much value they give, vs. how much value they take. It is this principle that he hammers into you how important this aspect of your inner game is. After finishing the set, you may find yourself wondering if you need any techniques at all, given the truths you have just learned. The rub is, I guess, that in order to get to the point where you can absolutely drop everything, you need to go through the learning period first using the outer tactics. For pick-up artists on any level, this is a must-have.

Make Her High Value.
So much ink is spilt in this community about not 'giving away your power', as if human social power was a currency, a finite commodity that needs be spent carefully lest it run out.
I don't think that this is true. I don't think this is true at all.
I think that this idea is so far from the truth, that it takes flight leaving the truth a period of several years to actually meet it, and even then, it would probably pass right through it, because it is so totally lacking in any substance at all.
The only things which have power over you are the things you fear.
Some would advise you to make certain that the lady never has as much power as you. They would have you guard your power jealously, lest a woman take it from you and leave you broken and alone.
Broken and alone as you were when you started this.
Maybe worse.
After all, women are shallow, fickle and cruel. They hunger for a man of status. All they want is an alliance with money. Money and power.
But it's fair enough.
After all, men are shallow, fickle and cruel. They hunger for a woman of beauty. All they want is sex. Sex and power.
No.
No, no, and a thousand times over, no.
Only the weak seek such things. Only the selfish covet status. Only the hollow hunger for money. Only the empty need beauty over all other things.
The women you will attract with power games are not the women you want to be with.
Not for a lifetime.
Not for a night.
The best you can ever hope for when you take home a shallow, fickle, cruel woman is to escape relatively unscathed. The worst that can happen is that she will destroy you.
I don't like those odds.
There is another way. There has to be. If there is not, I'd put a gun to my head, and seek blessed relief in oblivion.
But there is another way. This is what I do. It works. It works really, really well.
Make her feel like a princess. Make her smile. Make her laugh. Show her respect. Make her happy. Find out who she is. Find out why you should give a shit. She's aching to find a man who'll even ask those questions - be that man.
Be the man she's always happy to see. Be a good man. Be good to her. Be so good to her she doesn't know if you're real or if you're sent from heaven.
The only thing you must not do is take shit from her. Don't give her shit back, but don't take shit from her. Don't be paranoid about it, and give her the benefit of the doubt, but if she's giving you shit, do not take it.
Engage with her. Give her credit enough to find out who she is. Never stop finding out who she is, not after an hour, not after a decade. You'll never know her completely. Women are far too complex for that.
And so are you. You are too complex ever for anyone to ever know you completely. You do not cultivate an air of mystery by silence. You cultivate it with sound. If everything you say has meaning, everything she hears will raise another question in her mind.
Make her high value. Do this by finding out what it is about her that makes her valuable and unique. There are many, many things in each woman, many wonderful things.
Find them out. It is easy. Just ask.
Ask these questions:
1: What's your passion?
And whatever it is ask
1a: Why do you like it?
and/or
1b: What do you like most about it?
Of course, you could ask something else entirely. You could ask
2: What do you do?
And when she tells you, you can ask
2a: Do you enjoy it?
2b: If yes - What do you enjoy about it
2c: If no - what would you rather be doing? Why would you rather be doing that?
Or you could ask
3: Where are you from?
3a: What's that like?
3b: What do you like most about it?
3c: Why did you leave?
If they refuse to open up it's because they either don't know why you're asking or they don't know enough about you.
If they ask you why you're asking, tell them the truth. The truth is that you want to know who they are. They're certainly pretty (say this, it's not a bad thing) but you want to find out what else is going on with them.
If they don't know enough about you, tell them more about yourself. If they don't know enough about you they will usually bombard you with questions. Always be honest in your replies. Don't just give facts. In fact, strip down the facts. Guys always talk in facts. Be different. Talk about how things made you feel inside. Talk about what you believe about the things you've done and want to do. Talk about what you've felt in the past. Talk about how your beliefs have changed.
Basically, you're looking for a reason to give a damn about the woman you're going to sleep with. Sex with a woman you don't know or respect is worthless and hollow. If you get lost in it, and in pursuing it, you too will become worthless and hollow.
Get to know her by finding out who she is inside. Get to respect her by finding out the things about her that are worthy of respect.
She wants to tell you who she is. She'd love to find someone who'll care enough to find out.
Care enough to find out.
All you want to really do is get her to give you a reason to love her. And if you're going to sleep with her, love her. You can't fake it, or at least, you shouldn't. So don't find out what is amazing about that woman and allow yourself to love her. Make her high value. Make her your princess.
If only for a night.
That way when you sleep with her, you'll feel like there's another human being in bed with you, and not just a highly animated sex doll who can make you tea in the morning.
It makes all the difference in the world.

New Dating/Seduction Seminars & Workshop in Montreal by DOC!
Doc, who many of you know from his great interview here last time and all too rare but outstanding posts on this list, on Mystery's Lounge, and the Montreal Lair, is bringing his seminars and speed dating events to Montreal. Previously they were mainly held in Toronto as part of the Learning Annex, Doc is now setting it up here and plans to hold events on a monthly basis.

The events are Dating Secrets for Women, a 3 Hour seminar (cost $50) and Dating Secrets for Guys; a Guide to The Art of Dating (also 3 hours and $50). The fall calendar has a full weekend seminar and makeover. He also has 3 new books coming out this fall under the SETNA Dating Manual Series. Mystery Method Workshops:
What method are YOU using?
If you are opening groups (or sets: 2-sets, 3-sets, mixed sets, etc) of people with the 3 second rule by stacking indirect openers (including false opinion openers), false time constraining (discovered by Style), demonstrating a higher value to your romantic interest’s peer group with high octane DHVs while she obliquely observes (locking her into her own set with a prop), and simultaneously performing false disqualifiers (which include negs) on her with the intension of disarming her peergroup and then isolating her to rebuild her self-esteem once you have enough IOIs (indicators of interest) so you may share in a comfort and trust building effort and then build in a jealousy subplot to solidify her attraction for you, you are using The Mystery Method.
If instead you are only approaching women who are alone, you are greatly limiting your options and quite likely alienating your target's friends. Do you want a lonely woman (why is she lonely?) or a woman who already has a healthy social lfe? Truth is, healthy women have healthy relationships ... sometimes good friendships with guys. Like it or not, you will have to meet these women with men in her group.
Women of beauty are rarely found alone. Don't miss the opportunity to meet and attract them WITH social proof from her very own peergroup. Group Approach Theory (GAT - created by me) improves your options and increases the chances for attraction DRAMATICALLY over Single Approach Theory (SAT).
The guys who are GREAT in this game KNOW that they can improve their game ten-fold through seminars and personal coaching in-field workshops.
